USA 5 Star One Loft Race, 2025 Rules

  **Entry Fees and Activation ** 

 4 Race Series including average speed Entry fee is $200 per bird. 

Entry Fees due immediately after the 100 Mile activation race. All birds sent by the breeder must be activated within 7 days After activation race, no picking and choosing birds. All Birds must be entered in the 4 race series to be eligible for any other classes.

A tentative date will be set for the Activation,  Race dates are subject to change at USA 5 Star Loft Manager discretion.  A full refund of the entry fee is provided if a bird does not participate in the first race due to being lost, injured, or sick.

**Perch Fee**
Perch fee of $62 per bird due on arrival to USA 5 Star One loft Race, Birds must be accompanied with a USA 5 Star OLR entry form,  

**One Free Thank You Perch ** 

US Military, Veterans.  Active & Retired Police, Fire Fighters & Emergency Medical (First Responders) Please provide proof when sending birds.

 **Race Distances 4 Race Series**

 - The series consists of four races at distances of 150 miles, 200 miles, 250 miles, and 325 miles. 

 - Distances may vary slightly based on release points, with GPS coordinates provided for verification.

 **Average Speed **

 - To qualify for average speed payouts, birds must complete all four race distances 

(150M, 200M, 250M, 325M). Payouts 1st 2nd 3rd. 

 **100 Mile Swift Wing Sprint Cup** 

 - An entry fee of $50 per bird, with payouts up to 10th place.

 - Entry fees are due after an 80-mile training toss and must be paid one day before the 100-mile activation. Swift Wing Sprint Cup will be flown in conjunction with the 100-mile activation. 100% of the entry fee goes towards payouts. 

**375 Mile Winged Warrior Challenge**

 - An entry fee of $100 per bird, with payouts up to 10th place.

 - The entry fee must be paid within 7 days after the 325-mile final, and the loft manager may cancel the race if there aren’t enough entries. 100% entry fee goes towards payouts. 

**Grizzle Cup**  

White and Grizzles only  

$50 entry fee per bird.  

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th payout on the 325-Mile Final. 100% of the Grizzle Cup $50 entry fee will go to the payout in the Grizzle Cup. The entry fee is due after 250 Mile race entry must be in before 325 mile final. You cannot decide to enter a bird after the 325 mile Final.  You are not allowed to enter bird in multiple color classes.

**Peacock Cup**  

Colors accepted: Red, Silver, Black, Splash, Pied and rare colors.   

$50 entry fee per bird.  

325-Mile Final payout for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. 100% of the Peacock Cup entry fee will go to the payout in the Peacock Cup. The entry fee is due after 250 Mile race entry must be in before 325 mile final, You cannot decide to enter a bird after the 325 mile final.  You are not allowed to enter bird in multiple color classes,

**White Flight Cup** 

Accepted , Blue Bar White Flights, Check White Flights, Dark Check White Flights

$50 entry fee per bird.  

325-Mile Final payout for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. 100% of the White Flight Cup entry fee will go to the payout. The entry fee is due after 250 Mile race entry must be in before 325 mile final, You cannot decide to enter a bird after the 325 mile final.  You are not allowed to enter bird in multiple color classes,

**Meandering Mile**  

Last bird to clock on the 325-mile wins a prize! Closest bird clocked to the 48-hour mark.  

 **Payout**  

Payout posted on the Payout page; it is based upon 250 birds with $200 entry fee totaling $50,000 payouts. 100% of entries go towards the payout. We do not take a percentage of entries. In the final 325-mile race, we will pay out to the top 30 positions, 250-mile places up to 8th, 200-mile places up to 8th, 150-mile places 8th place. Average speed places 1st 2nd 3rd. 100 Mile Swift Wing Sprint Cup pays out to 10th place, has is its own pool. 375 Mile Winged Warrior Challenge pays out to 10th place, has in its own pool. Grizzle Cup pays out to 5th place it has its own pool. Peacock Cup pays out to 5th, has its own pool. White Flight Cup pays out to 5th place has its own pool,  Meandering Mile small prize given out to winner.  Payout amount and placings are subject to change do to amount of birds activated. Please see the payout tab for information. 

**Clocking**

Birds will be placed in clocking order, Topigeon clock will be used 

**Tie and 48-Hour Rule**

In the event of an exact tie, the affected prizes will be added together and split equally among the birds that tied. In the event that no birds clock within 48 hours of the release of race, all money will be divided equally among the actual birds sent to that particular race. If all prizes are not claimed within the 48-hour window following the final 325-mile race, the remaining payout will be divided equally among all returning birds that returned within 48 hours of release.

**Bands**  

All birds must have 2025 seamless AU or IF bands. We will not accept ring bands, custom bands, or snap bands. Birds will be shipped back at the breeder's expense.

**Vaccinations and Management**  

All birds are vaccinated for PMV at USA 5-Star OLR. Shortly after arrival, all birds will also be treated for internal/external parasites and canker, as well as quarantined for one to two weeks before being introduced into the loft. All birds will have their 9th and 10th flights cut and pulled and regrown before training begins.

**Failure to Activate **

Any breeder who fails to pay their entry fees 7 days after the 100-mile activation race, on the 8th day, will have their birds blocked from the race, thus forfeiting the bird/birds and giving USA 5 Star OLR Ownership of the bird/birds as they become the property of USA 5 Star OLR if no other breeder wishes to activate them. 

**Birds activated** 

Birds activated by their owners remain the property of the owners; there is no auction at the end. Any birds not claimed within 14 days after the conclusion of the race series become the property of the USA 5 Star One Loft Race.

**Replacement Birds**

Breeders will be contacted via phone call, text, or email if their bird is sick, injured, or has died to provide ample time for a replacement. If you have a bird that needs to be replaced during our acceptance period, the breeder pays for shipping expenses. No loft fee is due with the replacement bird. USA 5 Star OLR cannot accept replacement birds after the acceptance date of June 1st

**Bird Removal**

The ONLY birds removed from the race series or training will be those at the loft manager sole discretion of USA 5 Star OLR deems no longer capable of continuing due ONLY to illness or injury. Breeders will be notified via call, text, or email.

**No Remaining Birds**

If there are no remaining birds in the series before the final race, average speed will be computed based on the races completed. All races end 48 hours after release.

**Race Dates, Activation & Training**

Race dates, Racecourse, activation, training, and loft flying are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions, natural & manmade disasters and/or smoke in the air. This is at the loft manager's sole discretion.

**Chip Scan Failure**

If a bird does not scan by the clocking system, it will be hand-entered using the time of the last bird on that drop. This is at the loft manager's sole discretion.

**Race Canceled**

In the event of a natural & manmade disaster, theft, or disease outbreak, before the race begins, the race will be canceled, and all birds will be shipped back at the breeder's expense. In the event of a natural & manmade disaster, theft, or disease outbreak once races have started, remaining prize money will be divided equally among the top 10% of the pigeons that clocked in the last completed race. Average speed will also be awarded based on races completed in the event of a natural & manmade disaster, theft, or disease outbreak.

**Visitors**  

Loft visits are welcome but must have an appointment made at least 24 hours in advance, Monday through Friday.  Visitors are not allowed in the lofts or quarantine area. Visitors must use disinfectant spray or dip on shoes provided by USA 5 Star OLR before walking on the premises. No visitors are allowed to handle birds and must be accompanied at all times with a USA 5 Star OLR representative. 

**Race Basketing**  

USA 5 Star OLR will only allow the Loft Manager and select staff to assist with basketing for races. USA 5 Star OLR will try to provide a livestream of basketing. Once birds are basketed, a numbered steel cable tamper-proof tag will be attached to the basket.

**Wincompanion** Extra Info**  

Once you have registered a loft name and we have begun inventories, NEVER change your loft name until your birds have been returned. If you do so, our clock will not recognize your new loft name, and your birds will be missed in the results. This is especially an issue when we are scanning birds to be returned to breeders.

**Perch Reservations**  

You can reserve a perch/perches on Wincompanion; this does not guarantee your perch/perches. If you'd like the USA 5 Star One Loft Race to guarantee your perches, you will need to prepay your perch fee of $62 per bird. The perch fee is non-refundable.

**Loft Manager and Staff**  

The Loft Manager has the sole final say in all decisions. The USA 5 Star One Loft Race retains the sole right to approve or refuse any participant in the race! The USA 5 Star One Loft Race reserves the sole rights to make any and all decisions. The USA 5 Star One Loft Race, Loft Manager, employees, volunteers, and staff will not be held responsible and/or liable for birds lost to unforeseen events (theft, illness, injury, failure to return from loft flying, training, races, and/or shipping losses, etc.). The Loft Manager has sole full permission to administer medical treatment, supplements, feeds of any choice, and to cut/pull the 9th and 10th flight feathers as well as make all training/race decisions. 

**W-9**  

A completed W-9 is required if you win $600 or more, and a check will not be issued until we receive it. 

**Prize money** 

Will be issued to one individual and will not be split in partnerships. $50,000 in payouts is based upon 250 Activated birds, placings and payouts are subject to change based upon the amount of activated bird.    

**18 Years or Older**  

You must be 18 or older to enter or own birds in the USA 5 Star OLR.

Only ship birds to USA 5 OLR on a Monday or Tuesday, and never over a holiday. Make sure that you have a USA 5 Star OLR entry form, so we have it upon arrival, as well as a check and/or credit card authorization form for perch fees, You must have this form filled out to have your birds at USA 5 Star OLR; you can find it on the website under Payments & forms. Please do not overcrowd the birds and only send them in certified bird shipping boxes.  We will not return/ship your empty box back. Also, do not forget to add the Loft Manager's phone number to the shipping label or box for pick-up at the post office: Chelsie (661) 993-9654.

**Return Shipping**

Return shipping rates have changed by USPS and may change again therefore, shipping costs for returning birds will be announced as we get closer to the final race. There will be a limit of two birds per box, and there will be a $10 fee for a new box. If you decide to pick up your birds, we will need a five-day notice to sort them. Birds will only be mailed back to the breeder's address registered under their Loft Name, with no exceptions. USA 5 Star OLR is not responsible for birds lost, theft, illness, injury, death or delayed in shipping. USA 5 Star OLR has up to 60 Days to return birds to breeders. 

**Payments**

USA 5 Star Loft Race only accepts Zelle, Check or online payments, If you choose to pay with a card, you will have to cover any percentage fees.  (Checks made payable to USA 5 Star OLR), We suggest you pay electronically to ensure payment arrives before any deadlines.

USA 5 Star OLR will host a small event on the 350-mile final race day for breeders to attend and enjoy the experience of the race series! Local hotels, casinos, restaurants, and town information will be available on our accommodations page.
